Our tour package included a guided tour of the interior of Versailles; this tour guide was separate from our regular tour guide. Having done it, I can’t say I would recommend this particular option. I think a self-paced, recorded guide may be better. Versailles is extremely popular, so it is incredibly crowded. We were packed in amongst multiple other tour groups and folks not on the tour and had to fight our way through each room to keep up with our guide. The guided tours also have a pretty strict time limit. Between navigating the crowds and the time allowed for guided tours, I felt rushed and didn’t enjoy the tour as much as I did Windsor Palace (where we had the recorded tour players). Overall, Versailles was as jaw-dropping and opulent as you can imagine, and I think it’s a place to see on a trip to Paris.
