Crock Pot Stove Top chicken

I’m always on the hunt for a good Crock Pot dinner recipe. I spied this recipe for Crock Pot Stove Top chicken on Pinterest (but didn’t save the pin) and took a stab at it. Chicken, stuffing, and mushroom soup? Yum. Sign me up. This Stove Top chicken also reminds me a lot of my family’s Crock Pot chicken recipe. The recipe is pretty easy and requires very little effort. You can prep it early on in the day, set your Crock Pot, and come back hours later to a fully cooked meal. If you’re in the market for a Crock Pot, I have to recommend this version. I love the interchangeable crocks.

I also love that it’s essentially a one-pot meal. The chicken comes out tender and moist, and the mushroom soup gives a great flavor to the Stove Top. Speaking of flavor, you can use any Stove Top you prefer or have on hand. This recipe would be great with the cornbread stuffing mix. You also don’t have to use Stove Top stuffing; you can substitute any brand stuffing. Serve the Stove Top chicken with a side salad, sugar snap peas, or green beans (I love these green beans from Michie Tavern).

Throw (layer) the ingredients in the Crock Pot, turn it on, and come back a few hours later to a delicious meal. You do want to make sure you spread the mushroom soup across the chicken evenly to make sure the chicken doesn’t dry out and the Stove Top gets nice and moist. I also added the paprika to the original recipe to give it a nice smokiness. And be sure to pour water over the Stove Top because it will absolutely burn without it. Having done this, it totally ruins the dish.
