Hello, friends! Happy February. Far West Texas didn’t get the memo about six more weeks of winter, and we’ve have some beautiful 70-degree weather the past week. We’ve also had several wind storms that either kept us awake or woke us up, so it’s not all great.
- I have to say that this was the least excited I’ve been for a Super Bowl in a very long time (maybe ever). We stopped getting our local CBS station randomly and Mac isn’t allowed to eat in restaurants, so we weren’t planning to watch the game. Then CBS magically reappeared yesterday morning in time for the game. And then we turned off the never-ending pregame show and didn’t watch the whole game. What were your favorite commercials?
- But good news! The end of football season means the countdown to Spring Training is on. Fingers crossed that baseball season starts reasonably on time and that Minor League ball comes back. I would love to go to a game while we live in El Paso.
- Each time I’ve written my Life Lately for the past few months, I wish I had more to tell y’all. But we just aren’t doing a lot. We still have lots of restrictions in El Paso, and Mac has even more because he’s in the Army. Mac is also going to be busy for a few months with various work things. I’m planning a few trips and fun things to do for when his schedule lightens up. Crossing more fingers that we’re able to start taking trips sooner rather than later and that more things begin to open around El Paso.
- January was a really good month for new M&M and Oreo flavors. First up were cheesecake M&Ms. They’re white chocolate based, and the crust flavor reminded me of the buttered popcorn M&Ms from last summer. Overall, not bad, but I don’t need to try them again. I also snagged the chocolate hazelnut (Nutella) and the Brookie-O Oreos. A++ effort on both. I would definitely suggest that Oreo keeps both of those as permanent flavors.
What are your February plans?

I’m kinda glad we’re not the only ones not allowed to eat in restaurants. I hate that rule! Thanks for sharing the Oreo flavors! I haven’t seen new ones in a while, so I was wondering if they were still coming out with them. I’ll be on the hunt, so that we can try them! They both look like ones I’d love!

I’m not a huge fan of the no restaurant rule if only because El Paso already has at ton of restrictions to eat in restaurants. Oreo also has a java chip flavor, but I don’t drink coffee. Target is a good place to find the newer flavors!
