Spicy Ranch Chex Mix is an addicting snack that can be ready in under an hour. The Ranch dressing adds a zesty flavor, while Sriracha brings the heat. Make this for your next party or game day or to have a snack all weekend long.
Chex Mix
You’ll want about six total cups of Chex cereal. You can use any combination of the big three (rice, corn, or wheat). I prefer just rice and corn, but you can add in wheat if you like. You could use Cheerios or a similar cereal if you want different flavors and textures.
The mix-ins
Start off with cheese crackers. I like the cheddar jack Cheez-Its. You could also try the spicy Cheez-Its for some more flavor. Then add your pretzels, any shape or size. I decided to use pretzel sticks, and I broke them in half to be closer in size to the other stuff. Finally, I stirred in bagel and rye chips. I also broke these into smaller pieces because they were a lot bigger than the Chex. You can add other things you like or can find at your grocery story. Keep an eye out for mini bread sticks, cheese straws, or mini Ritz crackers.
Seasoning
The spicy Ranch part comes from Ranch dressing mix and Sriracha. You’ll use melted butter as a base and stir your seasonings into that. Use one packet of Ranch dressing mix or about four tablespoons if you’re like me and keep the shaker on hand. The recipe calls for a tablespoon of Sriracha, but you can adjust that based on the level of spiciness you want. You can also add in a few dashes of hot sauce if you want a bolder spicy flavor.
Once you have all of your ingredients, you’ll toss everything together in a very large bowl. Then you’ll toast the spicy ranch Chex mix for about 30 minutes to deepen the flavors. Toss it halfway through to make sure your Chex mix toasts evenly, and keep an eye on it.
