I’ve traveled a decent amount over the past few years. With each trip, I’ve honed what I carry and how I carry it. After using tote bags for years and years, I decided one day that I wanted to carry a backpack. I’ve tried a few, and here are my favorite travel backpacks.
Kattee camera case backpack
I first saw this camera backpack after I saw it as a Prime deal a few years ago. I wanted something easy to carry that also could hold my DSLR and camera parts. This Kattee bag has a separate section of the bag for a camera and includes a padded case for the camera. The top section opens like a normal backpack. You can also fit a laptop along the back of the bag. We throw smaller items like phones and wallets in the top and keep the camera with lenses in the bottom. This is my go-to bag on road trips.
UGRACE slim laptop backpack
A few years ago, I splurged and bought myself a set of matching luggage. I did buy the matching boarding bag tote, and then I decided I wanted a matching backpack. Since the set didn’t have one, I browsed Amazon. I found this backpack that matches my luggage pretty well. It’s not huge, but I bought it mainly for my laptop. It can hold my headphones case and other stuff with my laptop.
Veggul school backpack
This backpack was a total impulse buy. It’s a dupe for the more expensive version by Herschel. Of my travel backpacks, this is my go-to for trips where we fly or need a bit more storage. It has a big, open compartment with lots of storage space, two open side pockets, and two front zipper pockets. Mac and I easily fit all of our travel gear with room to spare.
Travelon anti-theft tote bag
I bought this before my spring break trip to Europe in 2017. We visited a lot of major tourist spots where pick-pocketing is common. This bag has cut-proof straps, so it’s designed to prevent theft. The zippers also lock into themselves to secure your stuff. I like the option to choose between the two tote straps or the cross-body strap. It has lots of space and pockets.
