I’ve seen a lot of “day in the life” posts lately and decided to jump in. I go to a morning Pure Barre class if I’m feeling ambitious (which is less than I’d like). Because of the nature of my job, I don’t work the same schedule each day but do work the same schedule each week. Also, I have a lot of meetings and don’t take my phone (and I work with students), so the only view I could share would be of my desk.
Mondays: I’m on campus for 8-9 hours. I have a few meetings, but this is my main “get shit done” day. I review event forms, do random tasks, and start projects for the week.
Tuesdays: 8 hours on campus, 6+ hours of meetings. This is student affairs hell. While I love working with students and helping them out, I get nothing done beyond my meetings.
Wednesdays: A short but late day as I’m on campus until 8 pm. More student meetings, an Alpha Gam conference call, and the late meeting. I kind of hope that we will reschedule this one next semester to a more humane hour.
Thursdays: A short and early day. I knock out a few more student meetings and have a weekly meeting with my boss. On a good day, I’m out of the office around 2 pm.
Fridays: Half of my “weekend.” Since I don’t work, I try to run errands and do stuff around the house that I’ve been putting off all week. I won’t lie, I’m very good at talking myself out of doing the chores that need to be done.
Saturdays: I have 6-7 hours of class. If the weather is nice, we eat on the patio of our building and have a fabulous view of Pikes Peak.
Sundays: I go to the early service at church. Now that football season is over, I have a lovely afternoon of doing nothing (including avoiding chores).
What is your weekly schedule like?

Sounds busy but the good kind!! I hope you’re able to rearrange that late day next semester! ๐

I am always really good at talking myself out of chores. I love that meme that says that “this meeting could have been an email.” That is so many student affairs meetings!
