A year of home ownership
A year ago today, I boarded a plane at 5:30 am to buy a house. Things didn’t go as planned, and I wound up in Colorado 14 hours later and an hour after we were supposed to close. The Lord was good, as always, and we were able to close after hours. I signed my name and Mac’s name more times than I can remember, and my Realtor handed me the keys. The house that I fell in love with on the Internet was ours.
The next few days were more hectic than the next year. I had painters, movers, and Comcast stop by to make our house truly move-in ready for when Mac came home. Our stuff that spent 2014 in storage reappeared to turn our first house into a new home. Over this last year, we’ve dreamed and done. Some dreams, like redoing the kitchen, will probably stay that way. We’ve already finished the basement and put down pavers on the driveway. At some point, I’ll post photos of the house, but it’s way too chaotic this week to even try to clean enough.
Happy one year, house! We’re happy to be home.
