Go outside
Colorado is known as one of the more healthy and active states in the country. When the whole state is just beautiful, it’s not hard to see why. Now that the soggiest 6 weeks in recent memory are past us, we’re starting to have warm, sunny weather just in time for summer. Mac has a few random days off in the next weeks, so we’re looking at things to do. I’m slowly converting him to someone who actually wants to go explore new places. Here are some day trips we’ve been looking at. Not going to lie, I really want to get all the national parks stamps for one state.
1. Florissant Fossil Beds. These are fossils beds about an hour west of here up in the mountains.
2. Royal Gorge. Colorado’s own Grand Canyon. It actually was severely damaged in a wildfire a few years ago and just reopened.
3. Rocky Mountain National Park. I don’t think I’ve ever been to the actual Continental Divide (though I have driven across it a handful of times).
4. Great Sand Dunes National Park. How many desert dunes in the world have a mountain range behind them?
