Yesterday, Virginia Tech squared off against the Cincinnati Bearcats in the Military Bowl. Ashley, our friend, James, and I stopped by Harris Teeter for tailgating supplies and then headed off to Annapolis around 9 am. My father-in-law recommended tailgating at a church across the road from the stadium, and we met up with several friends who parked in the same lot. Early games always call for mimosas, and we caught up for a few hours.
Kick-off was at 1, so we headed over to the stadium around 12:40. Navy’s stadium is absolutely horrible to get in to, and we had to stand in line for quite a long time. We finally made in it and found our seats.
The game was good, aside from our slow start and another Michael Brewer interception. My phone died before halftime, so I didn’t get too many photos. We won, so it couldn’t have been too bad. During the fourth quarter, I snuck over to the box where some of my friends were sitting to visit them. We left after the game, and I managed to be on the complete opposite side of the stadium from where we parked. I hiked back to our tailgate, and we headed over to a restaurant for dinner. Surprisingly, a restaurant called Regina’s was German, not Italian. After that, we drove back to Virginia. I fell asleep at 9:30 and slept for a glorious almost 12 hours.

There’s some glorious irony in tailgating in a church parking lot. Glad you had a good time! Also so glad we got the win. Needed that going into the offseason.
