Mac and I also checked out the DC Duck Tour when he was home (and I forgot to blog about it). We’d taken the Ducky Tours in Seattle and Stone Mountain, so we knew this was a must-do. The driving tour wound from Union Station down the Mall, onto the Potomac, then back into the District. The tour lasts about an hour total.
As many times as we’ve been to DC, this was an interesting perspective and a new route I hadn’t taken. If you’ve never visited DC before, this is a great way to see the big sites in one tour. The tour was fun, but we had to sit separately.
Address and Location
You hop on the DC Duck Tour outside of Union Station. They have a kiosk located near the entrance that faces the Capitol (the southwest side). The tour also ends at Union Station. You can park near Union Station, but I would recommend taking the Metro if you aren’t staying in the District.
Cost
Tour rates for an adult cost $40.50 if you purchase tickets online or $45 if you buy them in-person. Children’s rates run $29.70 for online tickets and $33 in-person. The DC Duck Tour also offers a buy one get one free offer for people who live within 50 miles of Washington, DC. You fill out a form online then pick up your tickets in person to get the discount. Since Mac has a Virginia driver’s license, it was well worth it to us. They also offer several other ticket packages for sites in the DC area.
The National Zoo | The Lion King | Antietam National Battlefield | Philip Carter Winery | Manassas National Battlefield Park | Great Falls Park
