Bride and groom Rice Krispie treats

  • Author: Lisa
  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 16 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups of Rice Krispie cereal
  • 10 ounces (one small bag) of small marshmallows
  • 4 tbsp. of butter
  • 1 package of chocolate almond bark
  • 1 package of vanilla almond bark
  • 1 mini squeeze bottle

Instructions

  1. Coat a microwave safe dish a spatula with non-stick spray.
  2. Melt marshmallows and butter in microwave safe dish.
  3. Stir in Rice Krispies until coated.
  4. Line 9×13 pan with parchment paper and spread Rice Krispies evenly into the pan. Press down to ensure that the treats are level.
  5. Cool completely. Cut into 16 bars (4×4).
  6. Melt chocolate and vanilla almond bark in separate bowls (I used 2-cup Pyrex measuring cups).

For bride:

  • Dip half of each bar in vanilla almond bark.
  • Smooth coating with a knife and cool until hardened.
  • Pour remaining vanilla almond bark into squeeze bottle.
  • Pipe the top of a heart shape (or a bird shape) across the top of the dipped bar.
  • Fill in and smooth with knife. Sprinkle with pearl sugar. Let coating harden before serving.

For groom:

  • Dip half of each bar in chocolate almond bark.
  • Smooth coating and cool until hardened.
  • Pipe one straight line of vanilla about one third of way from left side. Zig zag up to the top right, then straight down, then zig zag to the top left corner to form a bow tie.
  • Fill in and pipe two small buttons below the tie. Let coating harden before serving.

Notes

  • I like to wrap the treats in cling wrap or wax paper then flip them after they’re mostly cooled to help flatten them.
  • Try to get at least 16 bars from each 9×13 pans. You can get also opt for longer and skinnier bars.
  • If you prefer, you can substitute two bags of chocolate and vanilla candy melts in place of the almond bark.
