The Masters. The quintessential American golf tournament. Having lived in Augusta, I have seen how big the Masters is in everyday life, without living there during the spring. Lots of people have and use Masters merchandise all year round. A fun trip for out of town guests is to drive down Washington Road the see the club (not that you can get in, of course). Some lucky few even get a ride down Highland Avenue where you can see the course from the road.

Most of my Junior League peeps were born and bred in the CSRA, so they’ve attended the tournament countless times. Many natives Augustans actually plan vacations and rent out their homes that week to avoid the chaos and the crowds. But I’m kind of majorly bummed that we missed the Masters. Since Mac is in the Signal Corps, we will be able to go back to Fort Gordon, umm, pretty much whenever we want. If we do go back to Gordon / Augusta, the Masters is a must see.
Have y’all missed out on any major events where you live?

We miss a lot of fun stuff that happens in Miami. This year, I was sad to miss St Patrick’s Day in Savannah. It was always fun to at least watch the drunk people stumble down River Street.
