25for25 wrap-up
At the beginning of this year, I challenged myself with 25 goals to complete by my 25th birthday in September or by the end of the year. Here’s how I did!
1. Be a better Christian: attend church regularly, finish The Purpose Driven Life, read the Bible.
With another move, I’m changing churches again. I’ll be going to the Falls Church Anglican here.
2. Lose 25 pounds and keep it off.
Nope. New goal for next year.
3. Read 25 new books (I’ll give myself until the end of the year for this one).
I think I’ve read 26 or 27 this year. I did finish 25 by September!
4. Move at least once (possibly twice!).
Done and done. Settled in quite well after #2.
5. Visit somewhere I’ve never been before.
Charleston on vacation this year.
6. Start graduate school.
Finished semester #2 this week.
7. Organize our house and get us in better shape to move.
I guess this is done? All of our stuff is in storage for the next year.
8. Grow my blog to a point where it can make me some monies.
I’ve had two sponsored posts. Not much, but a good start! I’ve also added over 200 followers.
9. Celebrate our first wedding anniversary on June 9.
Done 🙂
10. Figure out our budget, stick to it, and pay off some of my loans.
I didn’t fully work out a budget, but we have no debt beyond my student loans and pay $100 extra (in addition to my required payment) for each loan every month.
11. Complete an organized run (at least a 5K).
Done. The Color Run 5K in November.
12. Work out 3 days a week.
Done-ish? I went through spurts where I worked out 5-6 days and then weeks where I didn’t work out at all.
13. Cook a new recipe at least once a week.
Done. Probably should have tracked this better, though.
14. Try out all of the kitchen gadgets we received as wedding gifts. A good many of them are still in their boxes in our garage. Whoops.
Tried out our Margaritaville blender, our nice china, and a double Crock-Pot.
15. Watch our Hokies play.
August 31. Whomp whomp.
16. Hike part of the Appalachian Trail.
Sadly, no. We just never made it over to the Asheville area like I hoped.
17. Design a Hokie room in our next house.
Our office in our Georgia apartment.
18. Actually finish a blog project I start for myself.
I can successfully say I finished this project!
19. Learn how to properly apply eyeliner.
Done.
20. Do some pins from Pinterest.
Done. I use several of the home cleaning things frequently now.
21. Host link-up parties on my blog.
Meal Planning Monday and Choose Your Own Adventure.
22. Be pen pals with my college friends.
Done-ish? I’m hoping to just get in the habit of sending birthday and anniversary cards.
23. Make new friends.
Done. We enjoyed getting to know some of Mac’s classmates. And I’ve already met some new folks here (friends of my friends).
24. Keep the house and garage clean.
Done.
25. Enjoy turning 25!
Done.
I’m going to give myself a 22/25 for this challenge. It was a great way to keep myself motivated to actually stick with my new year’s resolutions. Any of y’all have similar goals?
