Ingredients
Scale
- 4 stale croissants, split horizontally
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup of milk
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla
- 1 teaspoon of almond extract
- 1/2 teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice
Berry topping
- 1 jar of berry preserves
- 2 tablespoons of hot water
- 1 pint of fresh berries
Instructions
- Whisk eggs, milk, vanilla, almond, and pumpkin pie spice together in a large bowl.
- Soak split croissants in mixture for about five minutes. Preheat griddle to 375 degrees.
- Cook croissants on pre-heated griddle for 3-4 minutes until golden brown. Flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes.
- Optional berry topping: Stir hot water and berry preserves together. Spoon berry preserves and berries over hot croissants.
Notes
Tip: I like to cut any bread I’m using for French toast the night before and leave it out uncovered. It stales pretty quickly.
