Birthday wish list

My birthday is in one month, two weeks, and fifteen days. But I’m not counting. As with many women, I am kind of obsessed with my birthday.

Subsequently, I tend to care more about birthday presents than Christmas presents. If I want something specific, I tend to ask for it. Otherwise, I tend to be vague and not helpful. Side bar: I’m not to keen on gifts at Christmas anyways. Working in retail has made me bitter and jaded. But it is more blessed to give than to receive, and I pride myself on my gift-selection abilities. Side side bar: we told our families to finish our registries for gifts.

Back to me. In a sheer moment of happenstance and alignment of the universe, Titanic is being released in September for the second time. Titanic’s original VHS release date was in the beginning of September (I remember my mom and grandma buying it for me at a Border’s in Pentagon City while we were in Washington, DC over Labor Day in 1998), and I received it for my 10th birthday. Oy vey. I’m old. Over the years, my family gifted me the special edition VHS, the original DVD release, and the special edition DVD. If you’re keeping count, I do, in fact, own four copies of Titanic.

Come September 18, I will own five. The Blu-Ray combo pack is slated for September 10, and I just reminded my husband of its bargain pre-order price of $22.99. Bargain. I guess I really think it’s a bargain. I didn’t notice I typed that twice until I reread it just now. Bargain.

From Amazon.com

I was browsing on Etsy, a dangerous hobby if there ever was one, and searched my sorority (Alpha Gamma Delta). I found this beauty. I know that I’ve been out of college two years and my collegiate chapter isn’t active anymore, but I.WANT.IT. It’s only $12.50.

Anyone else own way too many copies of one movie? Do you still buy stuff that reminds you of your college days?
