Sadly, I am not as well traveled as I would like to be. Because I changed my major so much in college, I never had the opportunity to study abroad. I have been to four other countries besides the US, and they are all English-speaking. Canada didn’t even need my passport. I spent two days in the Bahamas, drinking and sunbathing.
I’ve mentioned it before, but I traveled to London and Dublin on a trip in high school. My dad was there on business, so my mom and I went along for fun. Scary enough, I was actually in England 10 years ago today (I remember because we went to the Tower the day before the anniversary of Anne Boleyn’s execution). We were tourists through and through: Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, Westminster Abbey, a Sunday service at St. Paul’s, the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace, and even seeing “The Phantom of the Opera” in its original West End theater. In Ireland, we bought claddagh and shamrock jewelry and saw the Book of Kells. We spent about ten days on that trip, and I’ve always wanted to go back. Mac and I have talked about our interest in moving to Germany or another European Army post. It’s not in the cards now, but Army life is quite the unplannable adventure. Then again, our retirement plan is based on us winning the lottery, so an European tour wouldn’t break the bank.
What is your favorite international destination?

My mom is a faithful lottery believer. She’s an avid Mega Millions ticket buyer. Germany is lovely (the little bits I’ve seen).

That’s so cool! I love Europe – it’s a blast! I’ve been to a lot of countries, but it’s only been in the last year. I hadn’t been at all until last June, and now I’ve been twice and am already dying to go back. I think my favorite place so far is France (Paris and Normandy)… but Athens, Greece and Rome, Italy were also AMAAAAZING! š
We hope to be stationed in Germany someday!

I really want to go to Europe, I’ve been to the Dominican Republic and it was amazing but I really would love to travel more.

We’ve been to so many countries, but since it’s always been on a cruise, we don’t have any stamps. I think Mexico might be the favorite.
