I think I’ve mentioned this before, but Mac and I love the show “Buying Alaska.” A new season started up last week, so we spent the day on the couch catching up on last season. We also watched Disney’s Bears, and now we really want the full experience. Even though it’s January, we might be already planning our summer vacation to America’s final frontier. Obviously, this will be dependent upon Mac’s block leave schedule and my potential job situation.
At the moment, we’re debating between a cruise and just a regular vacation. The cruise is the all-inclusive route, but a lot of trips involve a one-way cruise (you fly there or back). We found a few packages for the Alaskan Railroad that include Denali and bear watching (guess what Mac wants to do). So we have lots of options, and I can cross off state #49!
Any suggestions for visiting Alaska?

I’ve heard great things about Alaskan cruises but I’ve never been on one myself! x

Summer 2012, my family and I did an Alaskan cruise through Disney Adventures. I don’t have enough good things to say about it. Awesome experience and the cruise is the best way to see Alaska (unless you’re into hiking).

Do you read Kelsey at Pardon My French?
If not, you should! Her husband is stationed there and she’s always doing fun things.

I binge watched that show on my flight from Texas back to Virginia…so addicting! Ironically enough, our 2015 summer Vacay is a cruise to Alaska from Seattle. We booked the cruise last year and had to change the date a couple times because of duty, but I think we’re pretty set now for June…haha!

Tom watches every show there is about Alaska. We have talked about doing a cruise there. That is probably the only way he would get me there.
