Our first Colorado weekend
What, a weekend recap? Could it be that we did something this weekend? In our continuing effort to procrastinate and to not finish unpacking, we decided to ditch town and go exploring. Saturday morning, we headed up to Woodland Park. We had seen a commercial for Williams’ Log Cabin Furniture, so obviously we needed to explore there. We found a rug for inside our front door and some placemats. Mac picked out a new dining table that we will be going back at some point to buy. We headed over to the Rocky Mountain Dinosaur Resource Center. Most of the fossils came from a region in Kansas, and many are intact. It was pretty cool.
Afterwards, we grabbed lunch at The Hungry Bear. On our drive back, we found a garden shop that had hand-carved welcome bears. And we bought one. We have named him Zebulon (for Zebulon Pike).
Sunday, we bought Broncos tickets on a whim and drove up to Denver for the game. We found $10 parking and popped into Sassafras American Eatery for brunch. I had a delightful biscuits and gravy plate while Mac enjoyed barbecue macaroni and cheese. We walked over to the game. It was not worth the recap. On our drive home, it started snowing. The possible one to two inches somehow grew into over four inches. Must be nice to be a weatherman.
