Life Lately – September 2022

The greatest month of the year has started. The weather should start cooling off, baseball is ramping up to the playoffs, and football is back.

  1. I totally jinxed our household goods delivery last month. The movers wound up coming the next day and didn’t arrive until 4 pm. It took a few more hours, but all of our stuff made it, for better and worse. We are basically unpacked, though we will have to rearrange some furniture and need to hang stuff on the walls.
  2. The fall semester is upon us. Summer is very chaotic in this program, and we made it through. We submit our comprehensive exam this semester, so no pressure there (haha). But we’re technically halfway through the coursework.
  3. Since we now have more time after unpacking, we’re slowly exploring more stuff around us. We’re a quick drive (or a long walk) from the Potomac River, so we headed over to a park near our neighborhood for a walk along the river. I would like to head to a few new National Park Service sites in the coming weeks and months.
  4. I’m also looking forward to the long weekend. One of our dear friends is having a baby shower this weekend. It’ll be fun to celebrate their family. And I plan to do a whole lot of nothing (even though I have a lot of things to do).
  5. And we can’t forget the new flavors! I found these Neopolitan Oreos. They have three layers of creme on a slightly spiced vanilla cookie. Overall, a solid contribution to the Oreo portfolio. I also grabbed these Blueberry Muffin Kit-Kats. They are super sweet, but you definitely get the blueberry and white chocolate flavors. I can pass on these.

Do you have any fun plans for Labor Day Weekend?
